チャイナタウンの駅から始まるパゴダストリート（Pagoda Street）を真っ直ぐ歩くと
右手にヒンドゥー教のスリ・マリアマン寺院（Sri Mariamman Temple）が見えます。
1872年建立のシンガポール最古のヒンドゥー寺院だそうです。
チャイナタウン駅からは徒歩5分です。
入館料は無料なのですが、写真を撮るなら撮影料3ドルを取られます。（笑）
さっと見て出てきてしまいました。
ヒンドゥー教の寺院なら、リトルインディアでスリ・ヴィラマカリアマン寺院というものすごい寺院を見たのですが、そちらの方が強烈な印象でしたよ！

スタイリッシュなBoat Quay（ボートキー）
いわゆる「チャイナタウン」の外はBoat Quay（ボートキー）というエリアになるのですが、シンガポール在住の友人によると、このエリアがスタイリッシュなのだそう。

確かにカッコいい感じのバーなどありました。

火曜の20:00なのにこんなに賑わっています。
川沿いに建つ歴史的ホテルフラトン
ボートキーを歩いていると、フラートン ホテル シンガポール（The Fullerton Hotel Singapore）が見えてきました。
スリ・マリアマン寺院からプラプラと歩いて約30分でフラトンに到着しました。
ちなみにこんなルート。
Google Mapでは1.2kmで徒歩14分とのことですが、もっと距離があるように思えました。
ホテル内のレストランのTown Restaurantは川沿いのテラス席からの眺めがとっても素敵！！
トリップアドバイザー（TripAdvisor）の口コミを読んでみたらチキンライスも美味しいそうです。
そしてロビー付近を見学。
1928年築のパラディアン様式（17世紀の英国古典風）の建物は、1996年まで中央郵便局として使われていたそうです。
こちらのラウンジでアフタヌーンティーやサンデーブランチをやっているそうです。
フラトンではホテル内や周辺の歴史的建造物などを案内してくれる無料のツアーをやっているそうです。
1時間のツアーで、各回限定20名、コンシェルジュに電話で要予約とのこと。
次回シンガポールに行く時にトライしてみようかなって思っています。
